Curtis wins unanimous victory for Novolipetsk Steel in major trade case

September 2, 2016, Washington D.C. - Curtis has won a major trade case victory for its client, Novolipetsk Steel, the Russian steel producer.

The U.S. International Trade Commission gave a unanimous 6-0 "negative injury" finding on the question of whether imports of cold-rolled steel from Russia injured the U.S. domestic industry.

Russia was the only country to win such a result: producers from six other countries in the same proceeding were found to be injuring the U.S. domestic steel industry.

The vote is the latest success this year for Curtis, which as part of the same trade case also secured for Novolipetsk Steel the lowest combined antidumping/countervailing duty margin among Russian producers at the U.S. Department of Commerce, including a negative finding in the antidumping proceeding.

The team comprised DC based partners William H. Barringer and Matthew P. McCullough, associates Claudia Hartleben and Marat Umerov and analyst Paul Casas.
