Curtis Advises Lifebrain AG on Acquisition of Medical Laboratories in Italy
Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP has advised Lifebrain AG, an Austrian-based laboratory diagnostic services company in its acquisition of Laboratorio Analisi Guidonia S.r.l., a provider of medical laboratories throughout Italy.
In order to support this growth, Lifebrain AG retained Curtis to acquire Laboratorio Analisi Guidonia S.r.l., a complex transaction involving up to 90 million euros. In a press statement announcing the transaction, Lifebrain AG CFO Bernhard Auer said, “We are very happy to have completed this important milestone on our way to becoming the leading laboratory diagnostics player in the Italian market.”
Since its incorporation in 2013, Lifebrain AG has grown exponentially to become a significant European player with a strong focus on long-term investment in the Italian laboratory diagnostics sector. Lifebrain AG has developed a network comprising over 150 laboratories, 500 employees, and 200 health facilities and provides an average of 17 million diagnostic exams in Italy per year.
The Curtis team included Rome-based partners Daniela Sabelli, Alfonso Annibale de Marco and Sergio Esposito Farber, and associate Filippo Bianchi.
