Fernando Tupa to Speak at 18th Annual Investment Treaty Arbitration Conference on Sovereign Wealth Fund Protection
On November 1st, Counsel Mohannad El Murtadi Suleiman will chair a panel at the 2nd annual Africa Arbitration Day in New York, organized by the International Institute for Conflict Prevention and Resolution (CPR). The panel will discuss arbitrating natural resources disputes in Africa. It will shed light on measures African states have taken concerning foreign investments in Africa’s natural resources and the role of arbitration in resolving disputes arising from such measures. The panel will also explore how African states can maximize their benefit from their natural resources and the possibility of uniform measures taken at the continental level.
In addition to Mr. El Murtadi, the panel will feature Professor James Thuo Gathii (Loyola University—Chicago School of Law), Jennifer Glasser (Partner, White & Case), Ahmed Abdel Hakam (Partner, Volterra Fietta), and Ucheora Onwuamaegbu (International Attorney, ArentFox Schiff LLP).
As well as speaking at this event, Mr. El Murtadi is also part of the steering committee that helped organize the event in collaboration with CPR.
The panel will be in person from 3:30 PM to 4:45 PM at White & Case LLP, 1221, 6th Ave, New York, NY 10020.
