Curtis Elevates Jacopo Cordiano to Partner in the Milan Office

Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP is pleased to announce the elevation of Jacopo Cordiano to partner in its market leading commercial disputes practice in Milan.

This promotion was announced in parallel with two new corporate lawyers, partner Gianluca Cattani and counsel Gaia Morelli joining the Rome office, boosting the international law firm’s full-service offering in Italy.

Mr. Cordiano has a broad-based disputes practice that is focused on commercial litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution, in matters spanning commercial law, insurance, construction and agency. He has significant experience advising States, State-owned companies, sovereign wealth funds, investment funds, private and listed company to cross-border and multijurisdictional disputes.

Mr. Cordiano has specific experience in the immunity of states, their diplomatic missions and their assets, and contributed to securing unprecedented decisions on the practical application of immunity principles. At the same time, he has developed extensive experience in defending assets belonging to sovereign wealth funds and State-owned entities from awards and decisions issued against the State.

Mr. Cordiano’s disputes experience extends to assisting insurance companies, private and listed companies in relation to litigation involving D&O liabilities as well as claims arising out of cyber attacks. He has also assisted investment funds and construction companies both in active and passive litigation involving hotels, plants and residential areas projects.

Beyond disputes, Mr. Cordiano advises domestic and foreign companies in out-of-court commercial negotiations and cross-border transactions regarding commercial contracts spanning multiple sectors.

An Italian national, Mr. Cordiano is trilingual in Italian, English and Spanish. He has a law degree in Jurisprudence from Commercial University Luigi BocconiI in Milan. He is admitted in Italy.

Mr. Cordiano is part of Curtis’ prestigious disputes team in Italy that was recognized as the international arbitration firm of the year at the Legalcommunity awards in 2024 and included in the Dispute Resolution Powerlist for Italy released by Legal 500.
