Curtis Lawyers Featured in Bloomberg Law Article, ‘FTC's Marriott Data Breach Order Echoes States' Right to Delete’

Curtis was featured in Bloomberg Law this week, highlighting the Federal Trade Commission’s recent draft settlement with Marriott International Inc. after their year long series of data breaches and what this means for data-deletion policies in the future.

Bloomberg Law spoke to Curtis attorneys partner Jonathan Walsh and associate Steven Thomas on this matter.

Partner Jonathan Walsh shared that "the lack of an overarching federal privacy law furthers confusion among companies.” The idea that the “FTC has carved out a ‘new path’ using its regulatory authority to crack down on cyberattacks and institute security remedies" is what can help solve this issue.
