Curtis Partner and Islamic Finance Expert, Michael McMillen appointed Consulting Professor at the Prestigious Prince Sultan University in Riyadh

Curtis partner Michael McMillen has been appointed Consulting Professor at the prestigious College of Law in the Prince Sultan University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During his year-long tenure, Mr. McMillen will teach Islamic Finance to Masters of Commercial Law (MCL) and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) students. His appointment is indicative of the high esteem in which he is held in both transactional and academic aspects of Islamic finance, commerce, and banking.

In his 48-year career in finance, Mr. McMillen has established an especially broad practice in Islamic finance and investment and is renowned as global leader in this area. He has deep expertise in innovative and first-of-its kind Shari’ah-compliant financial products and structures and has been recognized in Who's Who Legal 2024 for Islamic Finance and has twice been recognized as best legal advisor in Islamic finance globally. He is also a Lecturer in Law at the Columbia Law School and, for 20 years, an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, teaching Islamic finance at each school.

Earlier this year, Curtis was granted a license to practice law as a foreign firm in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia boosting its presence in the region.
