Curtis has provided a four-day capacity training program, organized by the International Law Development Organization, to the Government of Uganda. Attendees included representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, the Uganda Investment Authority and the Uganda Revenue Authority. The training focused on investment treaties and double taxation agreements, providing practical guidance on best practices that States should follow in drafting these instruments. It was held in Entebbe, Uganda, from October 10 to October 13, 2022 and delivered through a mixed in-presence/remote format. Curtis lawyers providing capacity building were Partners Irene Petrelli (Milan), Olga Beloded (New York) and Paul Bugingo (Dubai), Counsel Lise Johnson (London) and Associates Valerio Salvatori and Francesco Sorace (Milan).
