Curtis Law in Frankfurt
News 09 Apr. 2009
NEW YORK, April 9, 2009 — The Legal Marketing Association (LMA) has selected Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP as the winner of a 2009 Your Honor Award in recognition of the firm's innovative approach to recruiting. The firm was chosen for its successful launch of a Facebook recruiting page — the first among AmLaw 200 firms — to market the firm to law school students.
Available at www.curtis.com/facebook, the Curtis recruiting page on Facebook was designed to raise awareness of the firm's international brand and disseminate summer program details to students in a way familiar to them. The page offers a wide range of information, including firm news and rankings, former summer associate testimonials, work assignment information and a schedule of upcoming on-campus interviews.
At present, Curtis claims more than 180 “fans” from 40 different countries on its Facebook page. The site attracts an average of 30 different users each day and has received more than 10,000 hits since launching in August 2008.
The team responsible for the creation of Curtis' Facebook recruiting page was led by Director of Business Development Andrea K. Stimmel. Partner Peter F. Stewart, associate Douglas I. Glazer and marketing team members Erica Klein and Yuriy Teyf also played key roles in the project.
Stimmel, who accepted the award on behalf of Curtis, acknowledged the hard work of a project team that recognized early on the value of using Web 2.0 technology. “Facebook enables us to communicate with students in a way that resonates with them,” explained Stimmel. “Curtis was the first law firm to take advantage of this, and we consider it a great success to achieve our recruiting goals in such an unprecedented and cost-effective manner.”
The Your Honor Awards are presented annually by the LMA to recognize creativity, execution, achievement and overall excellence in legal marketing. Winners of this year's awards were selected from more than 200 entries and were announced on April 2, 2009 as part of the 23rd Annual LMA Conference in National Harbor, Maryland.
