Four Curtis attorneys participated in the 2023 Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law (ASIL), which took place from March 29-April 1st.
- Partner Simon Batifort co-chaired the Dispute Resolution Interest Group Business Meeting on “Empirical Research in International Arbitration” on Thursday, March 30 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am (EST) and spoke on “Reforming Substantive Investment Law: How should we do it?” on Friday, March 31st from 10:30 am to 11:30 am (EST). Mr. Batifort is also a member of the Executive Council of the American Society of International Law.
- Associate Belén Ibañez has played a key role in planning several panels of the conference as a member of the 2023 Annual Meeting Committee and has recently been elected as co-chair of the Dispute Resolution Interest Group for a three-year term.
- Partner Justin Jacinto spoke on the panel “Will the Right to a Healthy Environment Transform Transnational Dispute Resolution?” on Thursday, March 30 from 9 am to 10 am (EST). He is also a member of the 2023 Annual Meeting Committee.
- Partner Luciana Ricart spoke on the panel “Regulating State’s Sovereign Rights Under Today’s Global Challenges” on Friday, March 31 from 12 pm to 1 pm (EST).
