Juan Perla Speaks on International Disputes at Howard Law

On October 17, Partner Juan Perla joined a panel on international disputes, transactions and development at Howard University School of Law. He spoke about the differences between international commercial disputes and investor-state disputes in U.S. courts and international arbitral tribunals, the enforcement of international arbitral awards in domestic courts, and how human rights issues can arise in international disputes. The other panelists included Lindsey Callahan and Bobby King of the U.S. Agency for International Development and Patrick Jackson of Clifford Chance in São Paolo, Brazil. The event was sponsored by the Howard International Law Society and La Alianza Latinx Law Student Association in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. Chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1867, Howard University is a historically black institution of higher learning in Washington, D.C.
