Washington, D.C. partner Borzu Sabahi participated in a panel discussion on "Investor-state disputes – a new dawn in treaty reform?" as part of the Who’s Who Future Leaders: Arbitration Conference USA, hosted by Sidley Austin LLP on November 14, 2019. Mr. Sabahi discussed new developments in formulations of fair and equitable treatment standards, including the impact of recent trade agreements such as CETA, CPTPP, USMCA and the new Dutch Model BIT. He also commented on developments relating to other issues, such as expropriation, and the future of ISDS in light of the developments in UNCITRAL Working Group III.
