Partner Borzu Sabahi to Participate in a Panel at Washington Arbitration Week 2020 on Alternative Approaches to Valuing Early Stage Investments in Investor-State Arbitration

Washington, D.C. Partner Borzu Sabahi will be on a panel titled “Alternative Approaches to Valuing Early Stage Investments in Investor-State Arbitration” during Washington Arbitration Week 2020. The panel discussion will take place on Tuesday 1st December from 1:00pm - 2:30pm EST.

The panel will examine the various existing approaches to calculate damages in investment arbitration and will address the following issues:

  • Depending on the type of claim, damages experts and tribunals may favor computing damages using a particular approach.
  • How the industry in which the investment was made and the extent of development of the investment project may determine a particular approach and valuation methodology.
