Simon Batifort and Andrew Larkin Speak at the 2022 ASIL Midyear Meeting

Partner Simon Batifort and associate Andrew Larkin will both moderate roundtable discussions at the 2022 ASIL Midyear Meeting on November 10 in Miami. Mr. Batifort also played a central role in the development of the Practitioners’ Forum this year, as one of its co-chairs.

Mr. Batifort will moderate a panel on “Crossing the Finish Line: UNCITRAL’s Re-imagining of Investor-State Dispute Settlement.” Panelists will focus on the key debate regarding whether investor-State dispute settlement should be reformed to create a permanent investment court with appointed judges or whether it should continue to be handled by ad hoc arbitration tribunals.

Mr. Larkin will moderate the first panel of the day, “Ask Us Anything: Careers in International Law – A Session for Junior Attorneys and Students,” which features arbitration practitioners from a variety of backgrounds who will share their experiences in international law.
