Wrecks of the World: Hidden Risks of the Deep

Counsel Lizabeth Burrell gave a lecture at the Maritime Institute of Technology and Graduate Studies conference on 'Wrecks of the World: Hidden Risks of the Deep.' She discussed legal and liability issues arising from leakage or massive spills from over the 8,500 ships which were sunk during World War II. The event took place in September 2009, in Washington, D.C.

The conference was sponsored by the American Salvage Association (ASA), the Association of Diving Contractors International, the International Salvage Union, the Marine Technology Society (MTS), the Maritime Technology Alliance, the North American Marine Environmental Protection Association, the Spill Control Association of America, and the World Ocean Council.
