Gianluca Cattani is a Partner in the Corporate, M&A and International Trade & Export groups of the Firm. He advises on corporate, transactional and regulatory aspects of cross-border M&A. He is notable for his experience advising on the full spectrum of export controls and trade compliance, including dual use, defense issues, sanctions and embargo regulations.
With decades of corporate experience of M&A to draw on, he has advised major multinational corporations on their obligations under national and international regulatory regimes in M&A transactions, as well as Italian companies on their international operations.
Recognized as a leading individual in the Legal 500 EMEA guide for compliance, his extensive experience in that area includes anticorruption and internal investigations. He has unique expertise on all areas of export control, trade compliance and international sanctions.
Mr. Cattani also has extensive experience in litigating corporate and compliance cases. This includes representing corporate clients before Italian courts, including the Supreme Court, in national and international litigations. Mr. Cattani has also acted as arbitrator in commercial arbitrations concerning both corporate and contractual disputes.
In addition to his corporate and international trade and export practice, Mr. Cattani is a tenured teacher in the department of Business, Law, Economics and Consumption at IULM University in Milan.
