He has in-depth experience advising State-Owned Entities (SOEs), governments, sponsors and lenders on large-scale energy and infrastructure projects, PPPs and joint ventures. He works on projects across a variety of industries and, in particular, power and water, industrial and petrochemicals and transportation projects. Currently, Mr. Pontier is working on a series of project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the Kingdom’s newly created transnational city and economic zone, in which region the total CAPEX of project is expected to be approximatively US$500 billion.
Mr. Pontier’s work in structured finance transactions includes matters involving the international debt capital markets (including, a range of Sukuk issuances), structured finance (asset-based lending solutions, securitizations, covered bond and conduit transactions) and restructuring (of debt for portfolios of energy projects).
He is also recognized for his pro bono work on impact finance (Social Impact Bonds (SIBs) / Development Impact Bonds (DIBs)) for establishing domestic and international financing solutions.
