Her internationally focused practice spans the full gamut of trade law and international public law, including national security, economic sanctions and export controls, trade remedies investigations, anti-dumping, anti-subsidy and safeguard investigations in both the EU and U.S.; market access barriers, and various forms of discrimination and unfair competition; bilateral, regional and multilateral agreements, WTO rules and investment treaties; EU regulatory and competition law matters; customs law, including valuation and tariff classification, rules of origin, Generalised System of Preferences (GSP), economic tariff regimes, duty suspensions and tariff quotas.
Ms. Klonitskaya has particular experience in the chemicals, aluminum and steel sectors, having represented major producers of fertilizers, aluminum and steel products in multiple investigations relating to market access and fair competition, subsidies and national security matters. Ms. Klonitskaya also has significant experience in the energy sector, including oil and gas, having advised on EU regulatory matters, market access, security of supply, market integrity, EU environmental law, technical regulations and standards. She also has important experience with the shipping and aviation sector, having advised vessel owners and charterers, lessors and lessees, in the context of transactions and regulatory matters and having represented a major classification society in a high-profile dispute. In addition to chemicals, aluminum, steel, energy, shipping and aviation, her broader sectoral experience also includes the metals, automotive, transport, banking and services sector, luxury goods, electronics, IT, high-tech.
