Mr. Francis has wide-ranging experience representing clients in commercial litigation and arbitration, public international law matters before both domestic and international courts and tribunals, and domestic public law and human rights claims. He appears regularly as sole counsel before the English High Court and before arbitral tribunals under ICC, ICSID, and LCIA rules.
Notable for his international experience, which spans Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia, Mr. Francis is bilingual in English and Arabic. He has rights of audience before the Abu Dhabi Global Market Court (ADGM) and Kazakhstan’s AIFC Court.
Prior to joining Curtis, Mr. Francis practiced as a barrister at a leading set of public and commercial law chambers in London. He has been recommended by Legal 500 UK as a ‘Leading Junior’ and ‘Rising star’.
Mr. Francis is a Teaching Fellow at SOAS University of London.
