Gaia Morelli is a highly experienced corporate, compliance and M&A attorney, notable for her deep experience in data protection. Her focus is the intersection of technology and corporate law, in areas such as e-commerce, marketplace related services, lead generation, media and social media platforms, the use of AI and cybersecurity.

Dual admitted in Italy and the U.S., Ms. Morelli advises Italian and international businesses on their negotiations with commercial partners, suppliers and investors. She has exceptionally broad corporate experience, gained over several decades of working in New York and Italy, with both U.S. and Italian law firms.

Ms. Morelli assists corporates, associations and brands at all stages of their life cycles. Her sector experience spans chemicals, technology, digital markets, IT security, media and communication, premium brands (particularly Made in Italy luxury brands), real estate, construction and engineering and automotive. Ms. Morelli advises on compliance matters, including data protection, ESG best practices and white collar crime.

Ms. Morelli has ongoing compliance roles within several European companies, including membership of the Compliance Committee of an international group manufacturing industrial chemicals and of companies active in the renewable energy sector and Data Protection Officer of a major Italian player in the employment outsourcing sector and in technology driven companies. She is a member of the Privacy Committee of the Rome Bar Association.

Ms. Morelli speaks regularly at industry and legal panels on data protection, new technologies and cybersecurity. She has lectured at Università Internazionale di Roma – Digital Innovation, Fintech and Platform Regulation.
