Rustam Makishev is an associate in the international arbitration group. His practice covers a range of corporate, commercial, and arbitration matters, with particular experience in contract law and complex dispute resolution.
Mr. Makishev has represented sovereign and state-owned entities in both investor-state and arbitrations under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). He has also represented clients in commercial arbitrations under a variety of rules and industry sectors. Further experience includes advising both private entities and government-owned companies on significant disputes arising in Kazakhstan.
Mr. Makishev has extensive experience in these practices across various industries. He has worked on due diligence processes in preparation for IPOs and has been involved in infrastructure projects, including in the oil and gas sector.
